(TechInsider)  MIT’s Personal Robotics Group has created a friendly robot named Tega that can play with kids and give them educational lessons as a peer. The MIT researchers studied animation to make Tega as warm and welcoming as possible. The fuzzy red robot is engineered to play for hours on end on an Android device that clicks into its face to create the robot’s eyes.
The biggest challenge with developing Tega is making sure its robust enough to handle kids. Children will hug and pull on Tega, meaning right now there should be adult supervision.
