Children’s Museum Hosting ‘Our Dear Friend … the Robot’ Night

(The Daily Courier) — The Spot, a children’s museum in Prescott, Ariz., will host an event titled “Our Dear Friend … The Robot!” on Thursday, Dec. 10, from 5:30 to 8 p.m.¬†Children between fifth and 10th grades are recommended to attend. The activities will include asking a robot to move objects around, speaking with the robots using programming code, seeing with the eyes of a robot and avoiding obstacles, feeling the movements of a robot by using special sensors, flying a robot, moving a robot in space, and trying to think how a robot thinks.

“We had one intro to robotics event over the summer, and it was the most popular Night at the Museum event we’ve had,” said Tabitha King, program manager with The Spot. The event is $5 per person, and a paying adult must accompany all children.
