(Investors.com) — Apple appears to be revving up a new push into robotic production technology for iPhones. Apple and other consumer electronics companies see automation as key amid rising wages in China. “While we expect the overall Chinese economy to be weak, we expect machine vision for consumer electronics to remain healthy,” Canaccord Genuity analyst Bobby Burleson said in a report. “In late October, management at Fanuc and Yaskawa highlighted anticipated growth in order activity out of China related to smartphones to come by year-end and in early 2016.”

Bank of America, in a November report, said the global industrial robot market will grow from $10.7 billion in 2014 to $13.4 billion in 2018. The biggest robotics suppliers in China are ABB, Fanuc, Yaskawa, and Kuka.
