(Engineering)  Leila Takayama of Willow Garage believes that today’s household robots should respond to human entities in their pathways differently than to objects in the room. Takayama explains the robot’s programming indicates a path from Point A to Point B and human is an obstacle in the path to move around. But she believes that robots should be able to think about people as different entities than a chair or table to navigate.
