Swami Vivekanand Institute for Rehabilitation and Training to Install 7-Axis Robot to Manufacture Sockets for Artificial Limbs

(TimesOfIndia)  Swami Vivekanand National Institute of Rehabilitation Training and Research (SVNIRTAR), an autonomous institute run by the central government at Olatpur in Cuttack district. will install a 7-Axis robotics machine for manufacturing of sockets for artificial limbs.
Installation of the machine with in-built CAD/CAM software will be helpful to amputee patients. It will be used for perfect fitment of artificial limbs. This institute is serving the persons with disabilities (PwDs) by creating manpower development for rehabilitation of these people, providing physical medicine and rehabilitation services, manufacturing prototype designed aids and appliances, development of models of service delivery programmes in the field of locomotor disability, vocational training, psychological counselling and outreach activities.
