Pepper Robots to Guide Visitors Through Five Smithsonian Museums

(GWHatchet)  A four-foot tall robot named Pepper is now a robot museum guide at four Smithsonian museums. Pepper recently had its first introductory demonstration at the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden. The museum will continue rolling out 25 models at five Smithsonian institutions, like the Smithsonian Castle and the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture.
All communication with the robot is done by touching the tablet or talking. Its arms can move to the beat of two dance numbers, and they also spread out when told to pose for a selfie – just some of Pepper’s pre-programmed actions.
