(BusinessInsider) Intel announced it is acquiring Yogitech, an Italian semiconductor manufacturer that focuses on chips for robots, self-driving cars, and other autonomous devices. Yogitech’s chips can collect data from sensors and cameras about the vehicle’s surroundings and process that to make automated decisions and avoid possible collisions.
Intel is hoping that growing its business in supplying chips for IoT devices will help it recoup lost revenues from its declining PC business, which is Intel’s traditional stronghold.
