Dutch Robotics Firm Opening Robotics Facility at Former Naval Air Station in Massachusetts

(AbingtonLocal) A Dutch robotics firm is planning to open a 300,000 square-foot facility at the former South Weymouth Naval Air Station in Union Point MA, and provide 300 engineering jobs during its first phase of operations. LStar Communities Managing Partner Kyle Corkum said his staff is meeting with architects to design a space for Prodrive Technologies, a robotics company that operates facilities in Israel, Germany, South Korea, Hong Kong, and China. Corkum said the construction of the robotics firm would involve union workers, “Union Point was supposed to generate tax revenues and high quality jobs,” Corkum said. “It is supposed to be built by high quality union work.”
