Caltech and NASA’s Jet Propulsion Lab Partner To Build Robots

(Forbes)  The California Institute of Technology has teamed up with NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory and opened the new Center for Autonomous Systems and Technologies on Tuesday.
The new center includes the Aerodrome, a three-story indoor test facility for drones with a wind tunnel and that also simulates fog and rain to help improve the ability of AI-enabled aircraft to adjust to rough weather. There’s also a space robotics lab with a cleanroom that simulates the motion of vehicles in space and a robot assembly lab with an 85-foot oval test track to improvement to the gait of walking robots.
